Musings from a fellow Boho..

“There's no reality except the one contained within us. That's why so many people live an unreal life. They take images outside them for reality and never allow the world within them to assert itself.” -Hermann Hesse

lately all of my brain activity seems to be leading to thoughts about who I am or who I want to be.
I had this conversation with a boy that was basically about how we see ouselves in contrast to how people see us.
he told me that when he first met me he was just overall confused by me and didn't know where to put that feeling that was both estranging and fascinating.
I was a little stunned with what he said as I was only out for drinks that night, not meaning to play the mysterious one at all and had put flowers into my hair just because that's what I do sometimes even if strangers give me the strange looks they tend to give.
my current situation with university beginning seems to be another demonstration of how you have to decide whether you'll just be yourself in all sparkling facets with the consequence of people judging or becoming a little invisible and cutting down on yourself.

with all of the impressions these past days filled me up with I decided that I'm sure I'd rather be a little excentric and confusing to some people than being pleasant to and understood by everyone, feeling like a shadow of myself.
it might sound like a cliché but if you think about it
this is the life I have.
I am the only me I have.
so please, I'll take it pure and undiluted.

love it.

Be source, not result.

We must not be afraid of what anyone might say:
Be source, not result.

-- Rumi

Blogs are supposed to be inspirational right? Well, here goes the start of my inspiration station. (incense and hungarian gypsy music are optional.)

Searching in the abyss I found another quote by one of my all time favorite writers and one of my biggest inspirations, Rumi. The author who posted this went on to describe...

To "be source, not result" is the ultimate freedom to live our lives as we were intended to.

Rumi wanted his listeners to notice how often we distract ourselves with what everyone else is doing, or with what everyone else wants from us, or with what we want to manipulate others into doing for us. As we do this outward dance, as we change our direction based upon what we think others want or will do, we fall further and further away from ourselves. And all of it is based upon wanting to fit in to what society is doing!

... So I re-invite you along on this walk. Look inside and see the drama. Look inside and purge yourself of the need for approval. Look inside and see the depth and beauty that is your essence. Start right this moment to build what only you can build, from the depth of you. Others may attempt to tear it down, but the success of our life is not measured in what we pile up. It’s measured in the act of creation itself. A dynamic process and a fluid intermingling of like minded souls.

On a road that is never crowded.

"Fear not the path of truth for the lack of people walking on it."

we find things for a reason. what is life telling you?
